Content download errors
This section describes troubleshooting tips to consider when experiencing content download errors.
40102: Unknown error
Cause
Device enrollment failed due to unknown reasons.
Device message
Error. An error occurred while customizing the device. Contact Samsung.
Log message
An unknown error occurred while downloading content. If the problem persists, contact Samsung and provide a device log to assist with troubleshooting.
41001: Profile error
Cause
An error occurred while downloading profile content.
Device message
Profile Error. The profile is not valid. Contact your IT admin or retry.
Log message
Profile is corrupted. Contact Samsung for more information.
Troubleshoot
Try enrolling the device again. If the problem persists, contact Samsung for more information.
41004: Insufficient storage
Cause
The device does not have enough storage space to accommodate the profile's entire content.
Device message
Insufficient Storage. There is not enough space in your device storage. Ensure sufficient space is available on the device and retry.
Log message
Device storage limit exceeded. Ensure sufficient device storage space is available and retry.
Troubleshoot
- Check available device storage space by navigating to Settings > System > Storage > Available Space.
- If the available space is not enough to install the profile apps, remove some apps or content:
- Tap Apps and long press the apps to remove. Drag the app to the Remove icon at the top of the screen.
- Tap My Files or open Tools > My Files to navigate through the content on your device. Long press the files you want to remove and select Delete.
42000: Content download failed
Cause
The device was not able to download content due to the following issues:
- The device is connected to a network with firewall, proxy, or gateway settings preventing the device from communicating with the Samsung server.
- The network or Wi-Fi is unstable.
- The device is unable to connect to the Samsung server.
- There are too many devices attempting to connect to the Samsung network at the same time.
Device message
Content Download Failed. Check your network and retry.
Log message
<content file name> failed to download. Check device network environment and retry.
Troubleshoot
- Check if there is a firewall, proxy, or gateway setting preventing the device from connecting to the Samsung server.
- On the device, swipe down from the status bar and tap Wi-Fi to see if the connection is stable.
- Go to Settings > Mobile networks to see if network settings have been configured properly.
- If settings described in Steps 1-3 are configured properly, wait a few hours and try enrolling the device again. Factory reset the device or go to https://custom.samsungknox.com on the device browser.
43006: URL error
Cause
The device is attempting to download content from an incorrect or unresponsive URL
Device message
Error: An error occurred while customizing the device. Contact your IT admin or retry.
Log message
<content file name> failed to download. Check the device network environment and retry. In the problem persists, contact Samsung.
Troubleshoot
Try again. If the problem persists, contact Samsung.
43007: Content download error
Cause
A licensing error is preventing the device from downloading the content.
Device message
Error. An error occurred while customizing the device. Contact your IT admin or retry.
Log message
<content file name> failed to download. Check the device network environment and retry. In the problem persists, contact Samsung.
Troubleshoot
- Disconnect and reconnect the device to your mobile network or Wi-Fi and download the content again.
- Remove the content from the Knox Configure profile and add it back again.
If the problem persists, contact Samsung.
